Fernando Torres is hopeful that impressing for AC Milan can earn him a route back into the Spain squad.
The 30-year-old striker has not played for La Roja since their disastrous World Cup in a campaign that saw the then-world champions suffer a group-stage exit.
He joined the Italian giants on a two-year loan from Chelsea in August, and Torres now hopes that he can excel for the Rossoneri en route to returning to the international scene.
"I'm proud of what I've achieved in Spain and in England in my career and I'd like things to go likewise in Italy too," he told The Mirror.
"We hope to build another great Milan side and play again in Europe. I will give everything and hope that will take me back into the national side."
The Spaniard has struck just once in the six games that he has played for Milan thus far.
