Sports Mole takes a look at the latest transfer news and speculation from Serie A.

We are just a month away from the kickoff to the new league season in Italy and teams across the country are hard at work trying to get their squads ready.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at the latest rumours from Serie A and the deals that have already been completed this summer.

AC Milan

AC Milan have been dealt a blow in their attempts to land Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, with reports claiming that their bid has been rejected. It also seems that that they will miss out on another of their targets, as it has emerged they are unwilling to meet Torino's asking price for Alessio Cerci.

In the long-running transfer saga concerning Mario Balotelli, reports from the Italian press have claimed that the Rossoneri are interested in swapping the striker for Arsenal's Joel Campbell. Robinho seems to heading towards the exit door after Adriano Galliani revealed that a number of clubs have made offers for the Brazilian.

Atalanta

Atalanta have been linked with a move for Deportivo Maldonado winger Marcelo Estigarribia. The 26-year-old played for the club on loan last season and reports coming out of Italy have claimed that talks have taken place over a permanent transfer.

Rumours of Giacomo Bonaventura leaving the club have continued throughout the summer and recent reports have linked Queens Park Rangers with the midfielder. The Premier League side will face tough competition for his signature, with the likes of Inter Milan, Fiorentina and Werder Bremen all said to be interested.

Cagliari

The constant speculation surrounding Davide Astori has finally come to an end this week, with the defender joining Roma on a season-long loan. He is not the only player to have left the club, as Nene has joined Hellas Verona following the expiration of his contract.

In some positive news, Luca Rossettini has signed a contract extension which will keep him in Sardinia until 2017 and former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is reportedly on the verge of joining the club following his exit from Watford.

Cesena

Cesena have been busy in the transfer market over the last week, with a number of new players joining. Manuel Coppola has completed a permanent move to the club, after spending the past 18 months on loan from Siena. Another player joining permanently is goalkeeper Walter Bressan, who was a free agent after leaving Varese.

Brazilian midfielder Ze Eduardo is another new arrival, having joined the club from Parma. Finally, Icelandic midfielder Hordur Magnusson will spend the next season at Cesena on loan from Juventus. Meanwhile, Dominique Malonga has departed the Seahorses, after having his contract terminated.

Chievo

In the past week Chievo have completed a triple swoop in the transfer market. Alessandro Gamberini has completed his much expected move from Napoli and has signed a two-year contract with the club, while goalkeeper Marcos Miranda has joined following his release from Sorrento.

The club have also announced the capture of Mariano Izco from Catania. The Argentine midfielder has signed a three-year deal following eight years at the Rossazzurri where he was the club's captain.

Empoli

Following Massimo Maccarone and Tiberio Guarente's arrivals last week, it has been a quiet past seven days in the Empoli camp. However, the club have been linked with a move for Fiorentina midfielder Matias Vecino, who had a spell on loan at Cagliari last season.

Diego Laxalt is another player reported to be on the club's list of targets. The 21-year-old Uruguayan currently plays for Inter Milan and has played for his country at Under-20 level.

Fiorentina

Fiorentina have completed the signing of Argentina international Jose Maria Basanta. The defender was part of his country's squad at this summer's World Cup and has joined from Monterrey for a reported fee of €2.5m (£1.98m).

They have been linked with a move for Sassuolo midfielder Jasmin Kurtic, while Juan Cuadrado's agent has revealed that talks between the club and Barcelona regarding his client have stalled.

Genoa

It appears that Iago Falque is on the verge of joining Genoa from Tottenham Hotspur. The winger has struggled to break into the first team at White Hart Lane and according to widespread reports, he is due to have a medical with the Rossoblu ahead of a transfer which could be completed later today.

There has been no shortage of players said to be on the club's list of targets this week. Lech Poznan striker Lukasz Teodorczyk, Fiorentina defender Facundo Roncaglia and AC Milan's Cristian Zaccardo are just some of the names linked with a switch to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Hellas Verona

Hellas Verona have wrapped up the signings of two players this week. Guillermo Rodriguez has joined the club from Torino, while Nene has arrived after spending the past five seasons at Cagliari.

According to the latest reports, the club are said to be interested in Bryan Ruiz, but they will have to battle Besiktas and Palermo for the midfidler. They are also said to be keen on a move for Frederik Sorensen, who recently re-joined Juventus from Bologna.

Inter Milan

Inter Milan and Cardiff City are reportedly in talks over the transfer of Gary Medel. It is believed that the Chile international is desperate for a move to the San Siro, but the two clubs have not been able to agree on a fee.

Meanwhile, reports coming out of Italy today have suggested that an agreement for the transfer of Pablo Osvaldo has been reached with Southampton. Hugo Campagnaro may be on his way out of Milan in the next month, with Genoa and Sampdoria believed to have made offers for the defender.

Juventus

There has been no shortage of rumours concerning Arturo Vidal this summer. The Chile international has been heavily linked with Manchester United and reports this week have claimed that he has reached an agreement to move to Old Trafford.

The Bianconeri have managed to complete the signing of Roberto Pereyra on loan from Udinese. The 23-year-old will spend the next 12 months in Turin, with the option to make the move permanent if he impresses. It also seems highly likely that Hellas Verona midfielder Romulo will be joining the club in the near future.

Lazio

Having missed out on the signing of Davide Astori to their city rivals Roma last week, Lazio have been handed a huge boost by the capture of Stefan de Vrij from Feyenoord. The Netherlands international was a key player for his country at this summer's World Cup and played in all of their matches as they finished in third place.

In other news, Stefan Radu and Federico Marchetti are both said to be targets of Napoli, while Lucas Biglia's agent has claimed that Real Madrid are interested in signing his client.

Napoli

It has emerged this week that Napoli have reportedly held talks with Manchester United over the transfer of Marouane Fellaini. The Belgian has struggled since his move to Old Trafford and it is believed that he will be allowed to leave the Reds for a fee of £18m.

Meanwhile, Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Lassana Diarra has been linked with a move to Naples, but Blerim Dzemaili could be leaving, with Sevilla said to be planning a move for the Swiss international.

Palermo

Luca Rigoni has completed a move to Palermo this week. The 29-year-old has spent the past six seasons at Chievo, but will be playing for the Serie A newcomers this campaign after penning a three-year contract.

The club could also be set to swoop for Oscar Duarte. The Costa Rica international had an impressive World Cup and is believed to be one of Palermo's primary targets this summer.

Parma

Parma have signed Mattia Cassani from Fiorentina this week. The 30-year-old midfielder spent last season on loan at the Gialloblu, but now the move has been made permanent.

Elsewhere, Gabriel Paletta continues to be linked with a move to Lazio, while Jonathan Biabiany is said to be a transfer target of Southampton manager Ronald Koeman.

Roma

Roma have further bolstered their squad for the new season by signing Davide Astori on loan from Cagliari. The 27-year-old had been strongly linked to Lazio all summer, but the Giallorossi have stolen a march over their rivals with the defender's capture. Astori has made seven appearances for the Italian national side and if he impresses then Roma have the option to make the move permanent.

Also this week, the club have signed Paraguayan youngster Antonio Sanabria from Sassuolo. The striker came through the youth ranks at Barcelona and has already made three appearances for his country at the age of 18. However, Spaniard Jose Angel Valdes has left the club for Porto.

Sampdoria

Sampdoria are reportedly closing in on the signing of Mario Yepes. The Colombian international left Atalanta at the end of last season and it is believed he will join up with the Blucerchiati in the coming days.

The club are also thought to be on the verge of signing Gonzalo Bergessio from Catania, while a move for goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano has been reported.

Sassuolo

As previously mentioned, Jasmin Kurtic could be set for a move to Fiorentina, but the club have been linked with Cristian Zaccardo.

The AC Milan defender is believed to want a move away from the San Siro this summer, however Sassuolo would face competition from Genoa for his services.

Torino

Having left Torino earlier this summer, Salvatore Masiello has now rejoined the club and has signed a one-year contract. However, Guillermo Rodriguez has left the club for Hellas Verona.

A move for Udinese full back Marco Faraoni has been mentioned in the Italian press, while new reports have linked Alessio Cerci with Spanish champions Atletico Madrid.

Udinese

Roberto Pereyra has departed Udinese this week, after signing for Juventus on a season-long loan.

Another player that could be set to leave is Pablo Armero, who is said to be attracting interest from AC Milan, Benfica and Sunderland.
