The agent of Michael Essien has claimed that the AC Milan midfielder is unlikely to sign a new contract with the Serie A club.
Essien's current deal expires at the end of the season, and with no progress being made with the club over an extension, the 32-year-old could be available on a free transfer in the summer.
"I don't think he will extend his contract," Fabrizio Ferrari told reporters. "He's happy at Milan, and it's possible he could stay, but I doubt that will happen.
"It's difficult to predict what will happen in June."
Essien joined Milan from Chelsea last January.
