Santos forward Neymar says that he would welcome the return of his "idol" Robinho to the Brazilian club.

Santos forward Neymar has urged AC Milan attacker Robinho to join him at the Brazilian club.

The 20-year-old says that his Brazilian compatriot is his "idol" and believes that Santos fans will be overjoyed to see him back.

"I am biased because he is my idol," Neymar told Xinhua. "To have an idol back at the club would be something special.

"If the fans want him then I want him here too. But ultimately it's the president [Luis Alvaro Ribeiro] who decides.

"I always want the best players to come to Santos, the doors are always open to good players."

Robinho's current contract with Milan runs out in June 2014.
