ADO Den Haag got the better of a five-goal thriller with Willem II this evening to put some distance between themselves and Eredivisie's bottom two.
Roland Alberg's 73rd-minute penalty won it for the hosts after Willem had recovered from a two-goal half-time deficit to level the scores at the Kyocera Stadium.
Den Haag were ahead inside two minutes as Mathias Gehrt made a run from deep to finish from Alberg's pass.
Michiel Kramer doubled their lead on 35 minutes when he met Dion Malone's cross for his ninth goal of the season.
Willem needed a slice of luck to get back into the match as the ball bounced into the net off goalkeeper Martin Hansen after a Stijn Wuytens shot had come back off the post.
The visitors were level on 62 minutes when Samuel Armenteros pounced for his fourth goal in three games, but they shot themselves in the foot when they needlessly fouled Kramer in the area.
Alberg stepped up to convert from the spot as Den Haag snatched a win which takes them 14th in the table, four places and two points behind Willem.
