Ajaccio have registered a narrow 1-0 victory over Lorient at home in Ligue 1.
Chances were hard to come by in the opening minutes of the match, with Yann Jouffre's saved effort after 15 minutes the first decent opportunity in the contest.
Lamine Kone tried his luck for Lorient from outside the box 10 minutes later but in vain, before Adrian Mutu and Paul Lasne squandered their chances for Ajaccio in the space of a minute.
Lorient regained control of the proceedings thereafter but only for a short spell before Mutu tested goalkeeper Fabien Audard once again.
Lorient had Audard to thank in the closing stages of the half, as he kept out a long-range effort from Paul Lasne.
Jouffre went close for the visitors in the opening minutes of the second period and so did his teammate Maxime Barthelme on the hour mark; Frederic Sammaritano saw his effort saved for Ajaccio in the 63rd minute.
The winner came 15 minutes from time from Ronald Zubar, who when teed up by Sigamary Diarra, fired home from outside the area to secure the points for Ajaccio.
