Denmark needed a late goal from Lasse Vibe to rescue a point against an unfortunate Albania side in their Euro 2016 qualifier in Tirana this evening.
The visitors looked the more likely to score in the early stages as Simon Kjaer headed Michael Krohn-Dehli's cross towards goal, but was thwarted by Etrit Berisha.
Yussuf Poulsen and Christian Eriksen then dragged efforts wide of the target before the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder produced a threatening ball into the box which Kjaer nodded over the crossbar.
Andi Lila tried to score for Albania as his effort went over and the hosts were edging closer to a breakthrough when Taulant Xhaka brought a save out of Kasper Schmeichel.
They did take the lead when Ermir Lenjani found space on the edge of the area following a fast break and the midfielder beat the Leicester City keeper with a low strike minutes before half time.
Peter Ankersen tried to give Denmark an immediate equaliser after the restart when his effort flew narrowly wide.
However, Albania continued to pose problems for Morten Olsen's side in attack as Bekim Balaj and Mergim Mavraj wasted chances to extend their lead midway through the second half.
Lenjani almost added a second on 73 minutes following another incisive counter-attack, and the midfielder's shot was only inches away from the target.
Albania's hopes of victory were dashed with nine minutes remaining as Lasse Vibe equalised for the Scandinavians following good work by Nicklas Bendtner.
