Nicky Law's 10th goal of the season was enough to give Rangers a 1-0 win away at Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship this afternoon.
Alloa started the game strongly and almost scored after 10 minutes, but striker Liam Buchanan lobbed the ball wide when well placed.
The visitors made Alloa pay for missing that chance minutes later when Jon Daly set up Law to fire the ball in from six yards.
They came close to doubling their lead shortly after as Daly flicked a long ball through to Kenny Miller, but the veteran striker hit the post.
After the break, Rangers continued to push forward and Daly forced a smart save from Craig McDowell, while Lee Wallace also went close.
McDowell continued to thwart the visitors throughout the second period, and kept out both Nicky Clark and Kris Boyd in the closing stages.
Athletic almost snatched a point in the last minute, but a low driven ball across the six-yard box narrowly missed several Alloa players.
