Javier Mascherano has urged his Argentina teammates not to get carried away ahead of their World Cup semi-final against the Netherlands.

The South Americans face the Dutch in Sao Paulo on Wednesday evening with a place in Sunday's final at stake.

While Argentina have every chance of advancing tomorrow night, Mascherano believes that it would be sensible for them to remain cautious.

"Of course we're delighted, but we need to turn that into confidence and get our strength back quickly," he told FIFA.com.

"We need to remember that we're one match away from playing in a World Cup Final and that we haven't made history yet."

Argentina earned a narrow 1-0 win over Belgium in the last round of the tournament.
