Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has insisted that Lionel Messi cannot be compared to former Argentina striker Diego Maradona.
Messi has long been likened to his fellow countryman, with the two players similar in terms of style and stature.
However, Simeone has said that it is wrong to compare the duo.
"You can't compare [Messi] with Diego. I don't think it's fair to compare players from different eras. There's Pele, Di Stefano, Maradona. You can like one or the other, but it's a personal choice," Simeone told Ole.
The World Cup final between Argentina and Germany is still 0-0 in the second period.
