Montpellier HSC manager Rene Girard has hailed former player Olivier Giroud ahead of their Champions League reunion.
Giroud was the top scorer in Ligue 1 last year as he helped La Paillade to the French title before completing a £13m move to Arsenal.
The Gunners were drawn in the same group as the French outfit, and Girard believes that Giroud will get a nice reception on his return to the Stade de la Mosson but isn't the primary cause for concern.
"They have something like 20 internationals so whoever's on the pitch will be complicated, whether it's Olivier or another player," Girard said.
"Olivier Giroud only left good memories. He worked hard for the club and I think the fans will welcome him as they should. But just a little hello and a little wave, and then we'll get down to business."
