Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp heaps praise upon Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil, hailing him as "technically perfect".

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise upon Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil ahead of Tuesday's Champions League match between the two sides.

Ozil joined the Gunners for a club-record fee from Real Madrid on transfer deadline day, helping them to a 12-match unbeaten run that has seen them climb to the top of both the Premier League and their Champions League group.

Klopp believes that Ozil could be the player that Arsenal have been missing in their eight-year spell without a trophy and admitted that he was surprised Madrid let him go.

"This team missed one player and maybe it can be Mesut Ozil. He is technically perfect, he is fast and has developed a drive to goal," Klopp told PA.

"He is very intelligent, can play in any team. He has everything, is natural and it works very well. That is why it was a great idea from Arsenal and not so from the one who let him go.

"One year ago no-one thought it was possible they could play brilliant football without [Santi] Cazorla, now they have some injuries and still look strong with Ramsey and Wilshere, Rosicky is back in shape and Giroud, he is one of the best."

Klopp will not be on the sidelines for Dortmund during tomorrow's match as he serves a touchline ban.
