Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has described Wednesday night's 3-0 win win over Fenerbahce in the qualifying stages of the Champions League as "vital".
The Gunners boss praised his players for they way they handled the tense atmosphere in Turkey, and bounced back from last weekend's defeat to Aston Villa.
"It was a good performance in a heated atmosphere," he told Sky Sports News.
"We controlled the match and after the disappointment of the weekend we're in a strong position now. It was vital to get off on the right foot and that's what we did.
"We could have been a little bit shaky after what happened on Saturday. So for us it was very important to start on the front foot. That was vital tonight for us and we did it well."
Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey were on target in Turkey before Olivier Giroud put away a penalty to give Arsenal a three-goal cushion to take into the return leg.
