Arsene Wenger is confident that Arsenal will see a more clinical Danny Welbeck once the striker has been relieved of the pressure of scoring his first goal for the club.
The England international squandered several chances as the Gunners lost 2-0 at Borussia Dortmund in their opening Champions League group game of the season.
Having also fired a blank in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the weekend, where he hit the post when one on one with Joe Hart, Welbeck is yet to net for his new club. However, Wenger is positive that one goal will set him firing, and is pleased with his overall contribution in the meantime.
"Welbeck was dangerous but he tired in the second half. He couldn't finish tonight but he looked lively and for all the rest he did well," Wenger told Sky Sports News. "He needs a goal to get that off his shoulders."
The 23-year-old joined Arsenal from Manchester United for £16m on transfer deadline day.
