Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: 'We'll try to put mistakes right in Monaco'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is confident that his team can create "something special" and beat Monaco to a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident that his team can create "something special" and qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League by coming from behind to beat Monaco in France.

The Gunners are currently 3-1 down from the first leg of their last-16 encounter.

Should the North London outfit win, they will become the first team ever in the Champions League to have come from two goals behind in an away leg to reach the next round.

"We are in a position where today Monaco are the favourites, but we can go there and create something special," ESPN quotes Wenger as saying. "I believe that we will have the desire to do it and give absolutely everything.

"I'd prefer to be 3-0 up, but we have no choice. Sometimes in life, you make a big mistake and there's no comeback, no way you get the chance to put it right again. In football, you can do it, so let's just give everything to do it."

Arsenal head into the clash on the back of a 3-0 win over West Ham United in the Premier League.
