Arsenal have beaten Borussia Dortmund 1-0 in their Champions League Group F meeting this evening, thanks to a second-half header from Aaron Ramsey.
The home side came close to taking the lead when Neven Subotic directed the ball wide of the post after Arsenal had failed to clear a free kick.
Dortmund threatened again through Jakub Blaszczykowski, who met Kevin Grosskreutz's cross, however he could not get his effort on target.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan had the best chance of the first half for the home side, but he placed his effort wide with just Wojciech Szczesny to beat.
At the start of the second half a header from Marco Reus was saved by Szczesny, before he had a goal rightly disallowed for scoring from an offside position.
Arsenal took the lead against the run of play through Ramsey, who found himself unmarked in the box to head past Roman Weidenfeller.
The visitors almost doubled their lead moments later, but Weidenfeller was at full stretch to keep out Olivier Giroud's low strike.
The Gunners continued to create chances and Per Mertesacker was unlucky to see his header from Mikel Arteta's free kick go over the bar.
Robert Lewandowski came close to equalising for the hosts in the last minute of the match but he headed over the bar, with Arsenal holding on to record a crucial victory.
