Barcelona could supposedly decide to leave Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of their Europa League squad for the knockout stages.
The 32-year-old's arrival on a free transfer from Arsenal is expected to be officially announced today once the formalities surrounding the termination of his Gunners contract are complete.
Aubameyang follows Dani Alves, Ferran Torres and Adama Traore through the Camp Nou doors this month, but Xavi is now in a predicament when it comes to European selection, as only three January signings can be included.
According to AS, Aubameyang is the one who is at most risk of being left out, with Torres and Alves shoo-ins for the squad, leaving Traore and the former Arsenal man to battle for the final place.
The report adds that Xavi will likely want to maximise Traore's game time before he returns to Wolverhampton Wanderers following his loan spell - especially with Ez Abde and Ferran Jutgla also not eligible - so Aubameyang may have to be content with missing out.
The former Borussia Dortmund man leaves Arsenal having scored 92 goals in 163 appearances for the club, and every goal he scored under the terms of his £350k-a-week deal supposedly cost the Gunners £1.2m.
Barcelona's quest for Europa League glory begins with the first leg of their knockout round playoff against Napoli on February 17. body check tags ::
