Everton manager Roberto Martinez has claimed that it is very unlikely Phil Jagielka will be fit to face Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday.
Despite suggesting that the defender could make his return from a hamstring injury earlier this week, Martinez claims that he will not risk playing Jagielka at the Emirates Stadium.
"It's unlikely Phil Jagielka will be involved on Saturday," the Spaniard told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
"With Phil we are going to give him as long as we can but if the game was tomorrow he wouldn't be able to play."
Everton are expected to welcome defender Antolin Alcaraz back following a spell on the sidelines.
