Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that Phil Jagielka could be fit for Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final against Arsenal.
The defender was recently forced to pull out of the England squad for Wednesday's friendly with Denmark due to a hamstring strain.
Despite admitting that Jagielka is in a race against time to feature at the Emirates Stadium this weekend, Martinez believes that there is a chance of him playing some part in the match.
"With Phil, you can never rule him out," the Spaniard told the club's official website.
"From a medical point of view, he should be missing the game against Arsenal - I was probably looking more at the Cardiff game (the following weekend).
"But knowing him and how he's reacted to this similar injury that he's had in the past, he could heal a lot quicker. I'm not going to rule him out and we're going to give him as much time as he needs to make a final decision."
Jagielka has made 28 appearances in all competitions for Everton this season.
