Jon Moss has been selected to referee next month's FA Cup final between Arsenal and Aston Villa at Wembley.
The Football Association said on their website today that the 44-year-old had been rewarded "after a season of consistent performances at Premier League level".
It will be the first time that Moss has refereed the final.
"It was a complete surprise," he said. "When I got the call it was the realisation of a dream really. For any referee it is the pinnacle of your career."
The last match of the English football season takes place at the national stadium on May 30.
