Jack Wilshere believes that Theo Walcott has become an instant Arsenal legend following his gesture to the Tottenham Hotspur fans during their FA Cup victory at the Emirates on Saturday.
Toward the end of their 2-0 win in the third-round clash, Walcott appeared to signal the scoreline with his hands to nearby Spurs supporters in response to being pelted with objects as he was taken off the field on a stretcher, prompting a furious reaction from the away supporters.
"He'll be an Arsenal legend now," Wilshere told The Guardian. "They love Theo already and this is only going to help him.
"They [the Tottenham support] were giving it to him and he's given a little bit back. I think people have got to look at it as banter. He's a bit smarter than me, I suppose."
It is not yet known whether or not the FA will launch an investigation into the matter.
