Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Gabriel Martinelli has suffered a "minor injury" and may not be ready to face Crystal Palace on Monday.

The Brazilian starlet has been linked with an exit from the club amid a lack of game time and remained at London Colney over the international break.

Martinelli reportedly started in a friendly victory over Queens Park Rangers earlier this month, but Arteta has since revealed that the attacker is a doubt for Monday due to injury.

Speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference, Arteta said: "Unfortunately he got injured last week. It's a minor injury, we don't know if he's going to be available for Monday."

The Arsenal boss also ruled out the possibility of Martinelli leaving the club on loan, adding: "No I'm very happy with him, we're not thinking of anything like that."

Martinelli boasts 12 goals and seven assists from 52 games in an Arsenal shirt but has been an unused substitute in the Gunners' last five Premier League games. body check tags ::
