Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck is a major injury doubt ahead of Saturday's vital Premier League clash against Liverpool.
The 24-year-old has been struggling with a knee problem that he picked up during England's 4-0 win over Lithuania last Friday.
He had scored England's second goal at Wembley, but was replaced by his club teammate Theo Walcott in the closing stages.
At the weekend it was announced that he would not travel with the Three Lions for their friendly against Italy in order to receive treatment from his club.
According to the Daily Mail, he is responding well to treatment, but Arsenal's medical staff will make a late decision on his availability to play against the Reds.
Welbeck has scored eight goals for the Gunners this season, while his strike against Lithuania took his tally for England to 14 in 33 appearances.
