Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that midfielder Fernandinho was injured in the club's EFL Cup final victory over Arsenal on Sunday.
The Brazilian was forced off the pitch six minutes into the second half with what appeared to be a hamstring strain.
Guardiola, who labelled the 32-year-old as a "big loss", added that the club must work around the injury going forward.
"He's injured. The next games he'll be out," the Spaniard told reporters after the game. "We'll assess him tomorrow but he's a big, big loss.
"Now we have to find a solution, to find out which players can play in the Fernandinho position. Now we have a problem in that area."
City play Arsenal again in the Premier League on Thursday, before hosting Chelsea on Sunday.
