Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has allegedly told his friends that he expects to start next weekend's Premier League encounter with Norwich City.
The former Sheffield United man arrived at the Emirates for an initial £24m earlier in the summer, but his only appearance so far has been in a 6-0 EFL Cup thrashing of a youthful West Bromwich Albion side.
Mikel Arteta has so far kept the faith in Bernd Leno for the number one spot, but the German has shipped nine goals in three opening Premier League games against Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Amid reports claiming that Leno is set to leave the club on a free transfer next year, The Sun claims that Ramsdale is hopeful of making his Premier League debut for the club next weekend.
The report adds that Ramsdale has told close friends that he thinks Arteta will give him the nod, which in turn would see Sheffield United cash in on appearance-related add-ons.
Ramsdale already has 75 Premier League appearances under his belt from his stints at Bournemouth and Sheffield United, during which time he has kept 10 clean sheets.
