Arsenal have joined Manchester United and City in the race to sign Benfica striker Nicolas Gaitan, according to The Mirror.
The Gunners are looking at potential reinforcements for the summer transfer window, particularly with the doubt surrounding star striker Robin van Persie's future at the club, and Gaitan has alerted manager Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi has apparently been quoted in the Portuguese press as saying that the club are keeping an eye on the Argentinian midfielder.
The reported price tag of £35m may prove problematic, however, and the Gunners are unlikely to be able to compete financially with the Manchester clubs.
