Olivier Giroud has said that the competition for places at Arsenal will improve the club's chances of winning the Premier League this season.
The Gunners sent out an early warning to their title rivals with a convincing 3-0 victory against Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley today.
Giroud came on and scored the third goal of the afternoon for his side and he believes that the signings they have made over the summer will offer them more chance of success.
"When we are all together, there will be a good competition on the pitch," he told Arsenal's official website.
"I think it will be good for all the players to have a great competition. I think we will be stronger than last year.
"We did well until March so I think with a really good squad with the quality and the quantity now we will do better."
Arsenal's victory in the Community Shield was their 13th overall and their first since 2004.
