Arsenal's new striker Olivier Giroud has admitted that he turned down an offer from Chelsea in favour of a move to the Emirates.
The 25-year-old agreed a long-term deal with the North London outfit on Monday evening and will officially become a Gunners player on July 1.
Despite reports claiming that Arsenal were always the frontrunners to clinch the France international's signature, Giroud has revealed that he pondered a move to the current Champions League holders.
"The choice was between Chelsea and Arsenal," Giroud told TF1. "I chose Arsenal because of the club's philosophy and stability. It is something that means a lot for me."
While a fee has not been disclosed, it is understood that Arsenal paid up to £12m to Montpellier for the frontman.
