England boss Roy Hodgson has moved to praise Steven Gerrard ahead of the Liverpool midfielder's 100th international cap for his country.
The 32-year-old is expected to skipper his country against Sweden on Wednesday and the England boss has praised his contribution.
"I've been exceptionally pleased with his leadership qualities, giving younger lads a wise, calming, comforting word," he told reporters.
Meanwhile, Hodgson also revealed that Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson should receive international clearance in the next 24 hours.
