Jack Wilshere is nearing a return to action following an ankle injury, the player confirms on Twitter.

Arsenal's Jack Wilshere has revealed that he is stepping up his recovery from an ankle injury.

Reports had suggested that the England midfielder could be out of action for three months, but the 19-year-old has confirmed that his rehabilitation process is progressing well.

"Good day at football today! In the gym again! Ankle feeling a lot better hope to be back playing soon," he said on Twitter.

Wilshere has not featured for the Gunners this season after originally sustaining the injury while on international duty in June.
