Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has claimed that Martin Odegaard "makes other players better" after his stellar showing against Leicester City on Sunday.
The ex-Real Madrid man did not add to his goals and assists tally at the Emirates but created chance after chance for the Gunners - as many as five in the first half - as Arsenal won 2-0.
Odegaard's close control and creativity was on full display at his North London home, and Arteta believes that the "terrific" Norway captain has the ability to improve his teammates' performances.
Speaking to the press after the game, Arteta said: "He was terrific again today in every aspect of the game. What he had to do defending, when we were high, when we were deep, in build up phase, what he had to do in the final third, the way he understands and manages when it's needed.
"I think he's come a long way since his arrival and he's showing great maturity on the pitch. He makes the other players better I think."
Thomas Partey's header and Alexandre Lacazette's penalty propelled the Gunners back up into fourth in the Premier League table ahead of Wednesday's pivotal battle with Liverpool. body check tags ::
