Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has insisted that the idea of retiring from international football never entered his mind.
The 29-year-old was part of the Netherlands' dismal Euro 2012 campaign, where the Oranje failed to gain a single point before bowing out at the group stage.
"I never even thought about quitting the national team," De Telegraaf quotes Van Persie as saying. "Trust me, it never even crossed my mind.
"I enjoy the game too much for that. I'm not angry either after the Euros. I'm not frustrated.
"I'm not talking about what happened in Poland and Ukraine. It's only right to discuss those kinds of things internally."
Van Persie could feature for the Netherlands' friendly fixture against Belgium tomorrow.
