Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hailed the performance of Theo Walcott in his side's victory over Wolfsburg in the Emirates Cup.
The 26-year-old scored the only goal of the game in the 50th minute to fire the Gunners to the pre-season trophy, and Wenger has praised the clinical edge shown by the England international in guiding his team to victory.
"Another goal for Theo and I'm not surprised by that because I played him through the middle," Wenger told reporters.
"I always said that he is a goalscorer. The movement, the timing of the finishing, the speed of his finishing – he has an eye for taking his chances at the right moment.
"When he gets into these positions he can finish well. Yesterday he nearly scored when he came on. Today he scored and that shows that he will score goals."
Walcott has reportedly agreed a new four-year deal with the Gunners.
