Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he was impressed with David Beckham's commitment during his time training with the club.
Beckham announced on Thursday that he would retire from football at the end of the season, and Wenger believes that the former England captain will be remembered for his dedication over any of his achievements.
The Frenchman told Sky Sports News: "It was always a pleasure to have him here, because of his attitude and behaviour. He gained respect from everyone for his dedication and his commitment.
"No matter how strong a player he was, what remains in your memory is his commitment and natural humility.
"Sometimes you forget that he won this championship or that championship, but you never forget how he behaved."
The 38-year-old previously trained with Arsenal during the off-season of the MLS when he was contracted to LA Galaxy.
