Sports Mole looks at Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Spanish Super Cup clash with Mallorca in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid will attempt to set up a final clash against either Barcelona or Athletic Bilbao when they face Mallorca in Thursday's Spanish Super Cup semi-final in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Los Blancos have made a flying start to 2025, coming from a goal down to beat Valencia in Friday's La Liga clash at Mestalla, before sweeping past fourth-tier Deportivo Minera via a 5-0 scoreline in Monday's Copa del Rey tie.

The current Spanish Super Cup holders are competing in the 2025 edition as the reigning La Liga champions, while Mallorca are participating in the four-team competition courtesy of their run to last season's Copa del Rey final.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Mallorca, who are competing in the Spanish Super Cup for the third time in their history.

David Alaba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 19 (vs. Las Palmas)

Alaba has been out of action for over a year after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in December 2023. The Austria international will travel to Saudi Arabia, having been included in Real Madrid's squad for the Spanish Super Cup. However, Alaba is not expected to feature in the competition, with the defender likely to return against Las Palmas on January 19 or in the Champions League meeting with Red Bull Salzburg on January 22.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Carvajal remains sidelined for the Spanish Super Cup, with the experienced right-back set to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a serious knee injury in October's La Liga clash against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Militao picked up a serious injury just over a month after Carvajal entered the treatment. The Brazilian is sidelined with an ACL injury for the second season in a row, meaning that he is set to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.

Jesus Vallejo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Discomfort
Possible return date: Unknown

Vallejo missed the recent Copa del Rey win over Minera due to some discomfort. The out-of-favour defender has now been left out of the squad for the Spanish Super Cup, although it is currently unclear whether the omission is due to an injury issue or a technical decision. The 28-year-old could leave the club in the current transfer window, having been restricted to just one appearance this term.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Real Madrid have no suspensions for their Spanish Super Cup semi-final clash.
