Analysing Norwich City's Premier League run-in - Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City to come

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at the fixtures Norwich City will have to play if the 2019-20 Premier League season resumes.

Talks between Premier League clubs over whether the season can realistically resume will continue later this week, but either way things are looking bleak for Norwich City.

The Canaries are bottom of the division with nine matches to play, six points from safety and with some tough games ahead.

Last season's Championship title winners have already defeated Manchester City, however, as well as taking points off Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City.

Hope is not quite lost just yet, then, and Daniel Farke will at least hope to be given the chance of pulling off a great escape over the coming weeks.

Here, Sports Mole has taken an in-depth look at Norwich's run-in to see if they have any realistic chance of staying up.

Norwich were due to host fellow strugglers Southampton in their next outing, one of five home games against teams 10th or lower - Burnley being the highest ranked of those sides.

There are also notable six-pointers against Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United to look forward to.

The Canaries' form at Carrow Road will almost certainly prove the key to staying in the top flight, but only Southampton have a worse record on home soil this season.

Still, the remaining five teams to play in Norfolk average a position of 13th, meaning that they have a shot of getting some much-needed points on the board.

However, City will also likely have to pick up points on their travels, which will not be easy considering the away games they still have to play.

There is a winnable trip to Watford, but they also have Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City to come - teams positioned ninth, fourth and second.

Considering Norwich have a division-low six points from a possible 45 away from Carrow Road, it is hard to see where the points are going to come from.

Taking all nine reverse fixtures into equation, meanwhile, Farke's men are on course to add a further seven points to their tally, giving them an overall total of 28.

That would not be anywhere near enough to climb above the dotted line, but stranger things have happened in football and Norwich will certainly not give up without a fight.
