How Arsenal could line up against West Ham United

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Sunday's Premier League London derby with West Ham United.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is sweating over the fitness of a couple of key players ahead of Sunday's Premier League London derby with West Ham United.

All of Gabriel Jesus (knee), Jurrien Timber (ACL), Fabio Vieira (groin) and Thomas Partey (thigh) missed last weekend's 3-1 win over Liverpool, where Bukayo Saka (ankle) and Oleksandr Zinchenko (calf) were also forced off before the end.

Timber, Vieira and Partey have no chance of recovering in time for the contest, and Arteta may also err on the side of caution with Zinchenko, who has been bedevilled by calf injuries since arriving at the Emirates.

However, Arteta played down Saka's concern as a "kick", and there is also hope that Jesus's new knee issue will not prove as serious as his previous concerns, and he could force his way back into contention for the trip to the London Stadium.

Kai Havertz was given the nod up top in the Brazilian's place last weekend, but the German still continues to cut an unconfident figure in front of goal, so Leandro Trossard may be in line for promotion to the first XI thanks to his insurance effort against the Reds.

Saka and Gabriel Martinelli will be expected to link arms with the Belgian in the final third, while Jorginho's masterful midfield display against the Reds should be enough to earn him another start in the engine room with Martin Odegaard and former Hammers captain Declan Rice.

Jakub Kiwior replaced Zinchenko for the second half of the tie with Liverpool, but thanks to Japan's elimination from the Asian Cup, Takehiro Tomiyasu can provide a more natural option at full-back.

The in-form Tomiyasu is expected to be available for the derby, where David Raya, William Saliba, Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes - a nominee for January's Premier League Player of the Month - will reprise their roles as ever.

Arsenal possible starting lineup:
Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Odegaard, Rice, Jorginho; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli body check tags ::
