Erling Braut Haaland starts for Manchester City in tonight's Premier League clash against leaders Arsenal.

Manchester City striker Erling Braut Haaland has been named in the starting lineup for tonight's Premier League top-of-the-table clash against leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Norwegian was taken off at half time in last weekend's 3-1 victory against Aston Villa after sustaining a "big knock" according to Pep Guardiola.

However, Haaland was able to take part in recovery training sessions at the beginning of this week and he has been deemed fit to start up front this evening, joining Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish in attack.

Guardiola has made just one change from the side that beat Villa, with Nathan Ake coming in at the expense of Aymeric Laporte, joining Kyle Walker and Ruben Dias in defence.

Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and captain Ilkay Gundogan all start in centre-midfield, with the former expected to slot into central defence every now and again.

Laporte, Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, Manuel Akanji, Rico Lewis and Kalvin Phillips are all among City's substitutes' bench, while John Stones remains out with a hamstring injury.

As for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has made two changes from the side that drew 1-1 at home against Brentford on Saturday, with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jorginho coming in for Ben White and Thomas Partey, the latter of whom is ruled out through injury.

Tomiyasu will take up the right-back position and join William Saliba, Gabriel Magahales and former City man Oleksandr Zinchenko in the back four, while Jorginho will partner Granit Xhaka in centre-midfield.

Arsenal starting lineup: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Xhaka, Jorginho; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah

Subs: Turner, White, Holding, Kiwior, Tierney, Vieira, Trossard, Nelson, Cozier-Duberry

Manchester City starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake; Rodri, Bernardo; Mahrez, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Grealish; Haaland

Subs: Ortega, Lewis, Akanji, Laporte, Phillips, Gomez, Palmer, Alvarez
