Arsenal have reportedly moved to the brink of completing the signing PAS Giannina defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Manager Arsene Wenger has previously indicated that he expects to be active in the January transfer window, and it appears that the Frenchman's first signing will be centre-back Mavropanos.
The 20-year-old has represented Greece at Under-21 level while also establishing himself in the starting lineup at Giannina, who sit in 10th place in the top-flight standings.
A fee of £2.2m has allegedly been agreed but according to the London Evening Standard, Wenger will immediately send the player out on loan for the remainder of the season.
Should a deal be made official, Mavropanos will spend the next six months at Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
