Arsenal have reportedly had a bid of £10.25m for Roma's on-loan forward Umar Sadiq turned down.
The 19-year-old Nigerian has impressed at youth level this season, with 16 goals in 16 games, and has also featured for the senior side, scoring two in six appearances from the bench.
According to Italian news outlet La Repubblica, the Gunners failed with their initial bid but would be able to secure Sadiq's services with an improved offer of €14.7m (£11.6m) this summer.
Sadiq joined Roma on a season-long loan from Serie B side Spezia Calcio last summer.
