Teenage Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli has been watched up close by Arsenal scouts, according to a report.
The Gunners were first linked with the 17-year-old earlier this month following his impressive displays for local fourth-division side Ituano, scoring four goals and setting up three more.
According to UOL Sport, Arsenal's interest has only increased since watching Martinelli up close and they are now expected to step forward with an offer.
Unai Emery's men may face competition from a couple of domestic rivals, though, as Watford and Crystal Palace have also been tipped to make a move.
The report indicates that Arsenal are prepared to hand over €8m (£6.85m) for Martinelli, who is close to obtaining an Italian passport, helping to smooth out a future move to England.
