Arsenal are reportedly unable to complete a move for Chelsea forward Willian until they offload Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Gunners are the frontrunners to sign Brazil international Willian when his contract at Stamford Bridge expires later this month.
While an agreement is already in place with the 31-year-old, however, The Sun suggests that confirmation of the deal is being delayed by complications over Mkhitaryan's future.
The Armenia international has spent 2019-20 on loan with Roma and the Serie A side are keen to keep him on board for a further year.
It is claimed that only once Mkhitaryan's £180,000-a-week wages are off their books will Arsenal formally sign Willian.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta's side are also believed to be on the brink of snapping up Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.
