Chelsea have reportedly jumped ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Feyenoord midfielder Lamare Bogarde.
The 16-year-old, who is capable of playing in defensive midfield or as a centre-back, is understood to be attracting the interest of a number of top European sides ahead of the summer transfer window.
Spurs are supposedly one of the clubs to have taken a liking to Bogarde, but according to Football Insider, Chelsea are confident that they have leapfrogged their London rivals in the race for the teenager.
The Blues will reportedly face stiff competition for the midfielder's signature, however, as Arsenal, AC Milan, Schalke 04, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are all said to be keeping a close eye on developments.
Bogarde registered one goal and one assist from seven appearances in the Under-17 Eredivisie before play was brought to an abrupt end amid the coronavirus pandemic.
