Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Alexis Sanchez's situation at Arsenal with a view to making a move for the attacker if he fails to agree a new deal with the Gunners.
The Chile international has been in talks with the North London outfit for some time regarding fresh terms, but it has been widely reported that negotiations have hit a snag over wages.
It is believed that Sanchez's camp are refusing to budge on their demands of a significant hike in his current £130,000-a-week salary package.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea are keeping a close eye on the situation and will try to lure Sanchez to Stamford Bridge if it becomes clear that the 27-year-old will not commit his future to the Gunners.
Sanchez, who is the Premier League's joint-top scorer alongside Chelsea's Diego Costa on 11 goals, has 18 months left to run on his current deal.
Arsenal are also in talks to tie down Mesut Ozil to a new contract.
