CSKA Moscow midfielder Keisuke Honda is to join Serie A side Lazio for a fee of around £11.75m, according to Sports Nippon.
Honda, the 2011 Asian Cup's most valuable player, met with Lazio president Claudio Lotito to agree terms with the Rome club.
He is expected to complete a medical within the next few days and the transfer will be formally announced as soon as the Italian side's quota on non-European Union players is vacated to allow space for the Japanese international.
Several clubs have apparently registered their interest in the 25-year-old, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa. Juventus have also reportedly held talks with the player in the past.
However, it is Lazio who have won the race to sign Honda, who joined CSKA Moscow in 2010 from Dutch side VVV Venlo.
