Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira will reportedly need to take a pay cut in order to sign for Arsenal.
Despite focusing on other areas of the pitch in the current transfer window, manager Unai Emery remains keen to add another central midfielder to his squad.
Partly due to being available for a minimal fee, Khedira has emerged as a target for the Gunners, with La Gazzetta dello Sport suggesting that a two-year contract is on the table.
However, the same report indicates that Arsenal are only willing to offer the 32-year-old a deal worth £70,000 per week, which is said to be £36,000 per week short of his current earnings.
Khedira will not be short of offers in the coming weeks, meaning that the player could take his time before making a final decision regarding his future.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have previously been linked with Khedira, although it is unlikely that the West Midlands outfit would be prepared to meet his wage demands.
