Leicester City 'beat Arsenal to Odsonne Edouard'

Leicester City reportedly lead the race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, with a deal worth £15m expected to be completed to reunite him with Brendan Rodgers.

Leicester City have reportedly warded off competition from Arsenal for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, who is valued at £15m.

The 23-year-old scored 16 goals in 26 Scottish Premiership appearances this season, with the Glasgow club currently managerless as they await for UEFA approval to appoint Ange Postecoglou.

It is believed that any deal that takes Edouard away from Celtic will only be completed once a manager is announced, after the Foxes overtook Arsenal in the race for the France Under-21 international's signature.

The Daily Mail reports that Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers is a key factor in the pursuit to bring Edouard to the King Power Stadium, as it was Rodgers who signed the striker during his time at Celtic.

With only one year remaining on his contract at Celtic Park, it is reported that it will cost Leicester £15m to sign Edouard, who has spent three seasons in Scotland.

Edouard has been a versatile forward across a front three and has 83 goals in 168 appearances for Celtic. body check tags ::
