Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has reportedly emerged as a target for new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
Wilshere has seen his career at the Emirates Stadium frequently hindered by injury - including an ankle problem that sidelined him for much of last season - but it has previously been claimed that the Gunners hierarchy are keen to hand the 24-year-old an extended deal.
However, according to The Sun, new City boss Guardiola wants to freshen up his team with the signing of the England international, just days after the club completed the transfer of Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund.
The acquisition of Wilshere would also boost the number of homegrown players at the Etihad Stadium, something which could prove to be an issue as Guardiola continues to make changes to his squad throughout the summer.
Despite his problems with injury, Wilshere has still made 156 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.
