Arsenal reportedly accept an offer of £25m from Newcastle United for 21-year-old midfielder Joe Willock.

Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign Joe Willock from Arsenal for an approximate fee of £25m, according to a report.

The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive six-month loan spell under Steve Bruce's wing last season, racking up eight goals in 14 Premier League appearances.

Newcastle's interest in signing Willock on a permanent deal was well-known, and Mikel Arteta hinted that the midfielder could be set for an exit when explaining his absence from Sunday's friendly with Tottenham Hotspur.

Now, The Athletic reports that Newcastle and Arsenal have now reached an agreement over a permanent transfer thought to be worth £25m to the Gunners.

The report claims that Arsenal were not prepared to turn down the opportunity to garner a respectable fee for the Hale End product, who still needs to agree personal terms with the Magpies.

Willock prepares to leave Arsenal after making 78 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and assisting four more in that time. body check tags ::
