The representatives of Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil have allegedly agreed to hold talks with DC United.
While Ozil has stressed that he remains happy in London, the 30-year-old is no longer considered to be first choice in the starting lineup at the Emirates Stadium.
The Arsenal board are keen to get the German, who has two years left on his contract, off the wage bill as soon as possible in a bid to boost their efforts to strengthen elsewhere.
According to The Express, the Gunners hierarchy may get their wish, with the player's agent due to meet with officials from DC United later this month.
The MLS side are searching for a replacement for Wayne Rooney after England's record goalscorer made the decision to play for Derby County from the start of 2020.
However, the report adds that Ozil would need to take a significant pay-cut in order to move to the Washington-based side.
